Working from home is not working 24/7
This is the truth that many forget. Sometimes, working from home can cross many boundaries with your life. And other times, you're burnt out to find the best solutions for both a happy life and fulfilling work.
Here are four things you should keep in mind when you work from home:
Allow yourself to unplug from work
It is sometimes hard to unplug from work if you work from home, but here’s the truth: longer working hours may lead to reduced productivity. Distractions can be one thing, and a not-so-ready-for-work mentality is another. When two modes of high concentration (work) and relaxation (home) collide, they can bug you for a while and affect your productivity.
Turn off off-work notifications
And for good reasons: A peace of mind. It is not easy to rest when the notifications about work keep appearing on your screen, so you should set your boundaries. You can have a fixed resting time and turn off all notifications for a while.
Maintain communication
You should raise opinions when you feel overwhelmed. Contact your manager or whoever's in charge of your work and let them know if you're struggling. Don't just shrug them off, the red flags of fatigue and demotivation. If you feel like it's too much for now, trust your guts and notify the bosses. Your mental health is no joke.
